Mason City man jailed on robbery charge

MASON CITY — A Mason City man is in jail on a robbery charge.
A criminal complaint says that shortly after 6 o’clock on the evening of last Monday, 31-year-old Jacob Mills assaulted and took money from a victim in the 200 block of 5th Northeast. The assault resulted in serious injuries to the victim, which consisted of multiple lacerations to the victim’s head and face.
Mills was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on Friday and charged with first-degree robbery, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Mills is due in court for his preliminary hearing on June 9th.
