Mason City woman pleads not guilty to stealing from convenience store over two-year period

MASON CITY — A Mason City woman has pleaded not guilty to ongoing criminal conduct and theft charges after being accused of stealing money over a two-year period from a convenience store.
A criminal complaint says that between May 2023 and April of this year, 32-year-old Crysta Robinson would allegedly make false refunds through the store and then either pocket the cash or use the cash for fuel in her vehicle. The complaint says Robinson did this at least 35 times during that two-year period.
Robinson has been charged with ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison, as well as second-degree theft, a Class D felony.
Robinson filed a written plea of not guilty in Cerro Gordo County District Court last week, with her trial being scheduled for July 29th.
