Most of north-central Iowa’s corn, soybean crop has emerged

DES MOINES — Most of the corn and soybean crop in north-central Iowa has emerged, according to the latest crop report from the US Department of Agriculture.
Here in the north-central district, 99% of the corn has emerged while 96% of the soybeans have emerged, the best numbers out of all the nine crop reporting districts in the state.
Statewide, 92% of the corn has emerged, which is four days ahead of last year but two days behind normal. Corn condition was 85% good to excellent, up 1% from last week.
97% of the expected soybean crop has been planted with 88% emerged. Soybean emergence is 10% ahead of last year and four days ahead of normal. Soybean condition rated 80% good to excellent, down 1% from last week.
