CLARION — Clear Lake remains on top of the North Central Conference softball standings this morning as they beat Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 21-3 in four innings last night in Clarion. The Lions scored seven runs in the first, seven in the second and seven more in the fourth. Clear Lake is 11-5 overall after the win, they are 6-1 in the conference. St. Edmond is tied with Clear Lake in the loss column in the conference standings with a 4-1 record, with the Gaels lone loss being to the Lions last week. Clear Lake hits the road again tonight as they’ll travel on State Highway 122 to face Mason City High, a game you’ll see on northiowanow.com on the Clear Lake Lions page starting at about 7:30.
CLARION — Clear Lake swept a North Central Conference baseball doubleheader at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows last night. Keeton Jeppeson had a home run and three runs batted in while Dylan Bieber also socked a homer and knocked in two in a 12-3 win in the opener. Bieber also went deep in the nightcap, homering and also having a triple in a 15-0 win. Clear Lake is now 8-6 overall and 5-3 in the conference and will host Dike-New Hartford tonight at Lions Field.
