Hinson talks about importance of manufacturing during stops in Mason City this week
MASON CITY — North-central Iowa congresswoman Ashley Hinson visited two Mason City production facilities this week as part of her tour of north-central Iowa. Hinson stopped at Heidelberg Materials and Church & Dwight Company to learn more about their operations and tour their facilities.
Hinson says manufacturing is a key component of the local economy. “When I talk about manufacturing, that’s exactly what President Trump wants to reinvigorate in the country, so we’re trying to focus on good tax policy right now that will help support businesses just like this one. When I hear about $30 million-plus in new investments being made right here in Mason City, I think about the impact of what that’s going to be for the community here. It’s the jobs, it’s the footprint in the region, it’s making sure that our supply chain is resilient here at home. I look at how all those things are tied together and then how the policy that we’re working on can support that.”
Hinson’s Second Congressional District includes Cerro Gordo, Worth, Mitchell, Floyd and Butler counties in our immediate listening area.
