Hampton man accused of attempted murder has trial date scheduled

HAMPTON — The trial date has been set for a Hampton man accused of attempted murder and willful injury who is now also facing other charges.
22-year-old Isidoro Moreno Montalvo was arrested after a stabbing back on May 24th. Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of 8th Southwest in Hampton where they found one male victim with multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to Franklin General Hospital and then air lifted to Mercy North Iowa in Mason City for further treatment.
Moreno Montalvo was originally charged with attempted muder, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison, as well as willful injury, a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years. Authorities have now added the additional charges of going armed with intent as well as possession of dangerous weapons while under the influence.
Moreno Montalvo recently filed a written plea of not guilty to all the charges with his trial scheduled to start on September 23rd in Franklin County District Court.
