Road to Farmers Beach on Clear Lake to be closed again for 4th of July weekend

CLEAR LAKE — A road to a popular destination on Clear Lake will be once again closed for the 4th of July. The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors today approved the closure of the gravel road that leads from County Road B-35 to Farmers Beach.
County Engineer Brandon Billings says the closure has helped control things in that area. “It’s a dead end gravel road that, there’s just a lot of nonsense that happens on that road during the 4th of July if it’s not closed. It just helps the Sheriff’s Department not have to get called out there for silly things if we put a closure on it, or at least it seems to help, so I’d recommend that we close that.”
The supervisors approved closing that gravel road from Thursday evening July 3rd until the following Monday morning.
