Today marks 30 years since disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit
MASON CITY — 30 years ago this morning, KIMT anchor Jodi Huisentruit disappeared with no answers since that time about what happened.
Authorities believe someone grabbed Huisentruit shortly after 4:00 AM as she was going from her apartment at the Key Apartments to the parking lot. Neighbors said they heard a scream about that time and a passerby reported that he saw a white van in the parking lot.
Police found Huisetruit’s high heels, a hair dryer, hair spray and earrings in the parking lot. A bent car key was found on the ground near her Mazda Miata, with police believing she was unlocking her car door when she was attacked from behind.
Police have fielded thousands of tips in the 30 years since Huisentruit’s disappearance.
An event to mark the 30th anniversary will be held at 11 o’clock this morning outside of KIMT’s building in downtown Mason City.
