Mason City’s police chief asks people who have information on Huisentruit disappearance to come forward

MASON CITY — Mason City’s police chief continues to say if people know something, they need to say something in an attempt to solve the case of missing KIMT anchor Jodi Huisentruit, who disappeared 30 years ago this past week.
Jeff Brinkley says he believes someone out there has the information needed to help end the three decades long mystery. “We’re certain that there are people out there that have additional information that has not yet been shared with police or law enforcement. You can contact the Mason City Police Department or Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation to share that information. We’ll find time to sit down and talk through that, and we are committed to continuing to work all the information that comes in until we can figure out what it takes to close this case.”
Brinkley says Huisentruit had an impact on her friends and colleagues, and he hopes people with information will be thinking about the weight that has been put on them through the last 30 years. “I think we are hopeful and optimistic as humans that that sinks in that you would put yourself in the position of Jodi’s family and Jodi’s colleagues and her friends, and the people that knew her, and the people that she impacted, and that would help you, even at the lowest point of your life to do the right thing. That’s really where we are today. There’s never a bad time, there’s never a wrong time to do the right thing.”
If you have information you think could help solve the case, contact the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.
