Mercy Drive to close, Crescent Drive to open as part of State Highway 122 reconstruction project

MASON CITY — The next phase of the State Highway 122 project will start tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Iowa Department of Transportation says weather permitting, crews will be closing the Mercy Drive intersection that is accessible currently with the westbound lane. At the same time, the Crescent Drive intersection, which has been closed, will be opened to traffic.

If you are driving west, you will access the hospital from Crescent Drive. Those driving eastbound on 122 will still have to access the hospital from South Pierce Avenue.

The traffic pattern on State Highway 122 still allows one lane of traffic in each direction between South Pierce and South Monroe Avenues with no left turns allowed on 122 or from any side streets between Pierce and Monroe.
