Kenneth L. Gremmer, 79, of Britt, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Concord Care Center
in Garner.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, July10, 2025, at Cataldo Funeral
Chapel, 160 E. 4 th St. in Garner. Burial will be held at a later date.
Kenneth Louvern Gremmer, the son of Hemmo and Nellie Mae (Kearney) Gremmer, was born
May 15, 1946, in Britt. He attended country school west of Britt and graduated from Britt High
School in 1965. Kenny worked at Hutchins Elevator, Artes Produce in Britt, and Winnebago
Industries in Forest City for 42 years, retiring in October of 2010. On September 25, 1981, he
married Carolyn Brass at Forest Lutheran Church in Forest City. They lived in Forest City and
on an acreage before moving into Britt in 2012. He enjoyed antiquing and working on his ’57
Chevy.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Klemme; two daughters, Sara Gremmer of Mason
City and Anna (Robert) Arens of Mason City; two step-children, Jeff (Emily) Meyer of Lake
View, IA and Michele (David) Gabel of Indianola; grandchildren, Gabriel Robinson, Matthew
Meyer, Destiny Gremmer, Elizabeth and Logan Meckler and Andrew and Addison Arens; two
great-grandchildren, Mason and Audrey Robinson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Jennie (Jerry) Smith and Beverly (Bill)
Spencer.
