Jury convicts Hampton man of sexually abusing children at daycare

NORTHWOOD — A Hampton man accused of having sexual contact with children while working at a daycare has been convicted of multiple counts of sexual abuse.
28-year-old Benjamin Green was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse after being accused of sexually abusing three children while he was working at the Hampton Community Christian Daycare between 2014 and 2017. Green was charged in May 2023 after an investigation into the matter.
The case was moved from Franklin County to Worth County after a change of venue request by Green’s attorney stating that Green likely could not receive a fair and impartial trial due to a jury potentially having prior knowledge of the families, or the allegations, or the opinions expressed of the defendant.
After the trial started on June 30th, a Worth County jury returned their guilty verdicts on Tuesday.
Green faces a total of 75 years in prison when he’s sentenced at the Franklin County Courthouse on September 4th.
