Forest City man dies after pursuit with law enforcement, crashes into tree and house in Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — A Forest City man fleeing from law enforcement has died after an accident in Clear Lake.
The Iowa State Patrol says 22-year-old Zachary Hill was actively attempting to elude law enforcement early Sunday morning. Hill lost control at a high rate of speed at the intersection of 4th Avenue South and South Shore Drive, struck a tree, and then struck an unoccupied house and two parked vehicles.
The State Patrol says Hill was fatally injured in the accident.
The State Patrol assisted by the Clear Lake Police and Fire Departments and the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office at the scene of the accident.
