Mason City High baseball team plays at #8 Valley in 4A substate semifinal tonight
MASON CITY — The Mason City Riverhawks baseball team plays in a Class 4A substate semifinal tonight when they travel to face 8th-ranked West Des Moines Valley.
The Riverhawks come in with a record of 25-12 after beating Fort Dodge in the substate quarterfinal round on Friday 6-2. Valley shut out Des Moines Roosevelt on Friday 5-0 to improve their record on the season to 23-12.

The winner of tonight’s game will face the substate’s top seed and 3rd-ranked Johnston in the substate championship game on Wednesday. Johnston shut out Des Moines North 12-0 on Friday and received a bye into the substate championship.
