MASON CITY — Newman and St. Ansgar look to get back to the state baseball tournament as they play in separate Class 1A substate championship games tonight.
The 10th-ranked Knights are 25-8 and will face 9th-ranked Kee High in the Substate 3 championship game in Decorah.
In the Substate 2 championship game, 6th-ranked St. Ansgar faces Wapsie Valley at Charles City High School. The Saints are 20-7 while the Warriors are 20-6.
The winners advance to the state baseball tournament in Carroll which starts next Monday.
