Popejoy resident killed in accident in Buena Vista County

PETERSON —- A Franklin County resident is dead while four others in the same vehicle were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Buena Vista County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened shortly before 10 o’clock Monday morning in the 4500 block of County Road M-27 south of Peterson. A vehicle driven by 37-year-old Nicholas Seaburg of Popejoy was northbound on the road and turning left into a parking lot when he failed to yield to a vehicle heading southbound driven by 69-year-old Marlon Klein of Sheldon. Klein’s vehicle struck the right side.
A passenger in the vehicle, 42-year-old Coree Keller of Popejoy was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Seaburg as well as two juvenile females and a juvenile male were injured in the accident. Seaburg transported himself to a hospital while the other three were taken to various hospitals for treatment. Klein was not injured.
