Riverhawks fall in 4A baseball substate semifinal at 8th-ranked Valley

WEST DES MOINES — 8th-ranked Valley scored three in the second, three in the third, three in the fourth and then put the game away with a run in the fifth in a 10-0, five-inning win over Mason City last night in the Class 4A Substate 4 semifinal round baseball game, as you heard on 98.7 KISS Country.

Ryan Stedman had five runs batted in for the Tigers in the contest, as Valley improves to 24-12 on the season and will travel to 3rd-ranked Johnston for the substate championship game on Wednesday night.

Mason City only mustered one hit in the contest and ended their season with a record of 25-13.
