DOWS — One person is dead after crashing into a grain elevator in Dows early Sunday morning.
Reports say a driver crashed into the building at 205 Railroad Avenue at about 1:00 AM on Sunday, with the crash starting a fire. The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle, and no one else was injured. The name of the driver has not been released at this time.
The Iowa State Patrol and Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident along with the fire departments from Dows, Belmond, Alexander and Coulter.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
