Final numbers show Clear Lake’s 4th of July celebration one of the best attended ever

CLEAR LAKE — The final numbers are in, and it was another successful 4th of July weekend in Clear Lake.
Chamber of Commerce CEO Stacy Doughan says there were records set with the number of people coming to Clear Lake for the five-day event. “We were looking at 131,000 people came into Clear Lake. The parade itself saw 19,300 people, which is the best parade we’ve had since before the pandemic, so it’s nice to see that finally return back to its pre-pandemic numbers. In City Park on the 4th of July itself, there were over 22,000 people in City Park, and that is the best single-day attendance that we’ve ever had.”
Doughan says weather did have a slight impact on the celebration. “Saturday hurt us a little bit with all the rain on the big night with Arch Allies, so our carnival revenue was down a little bit, but not terrible, it wasn’t anything concerning at all. So pretty on par with last year, one of the best five-day stretches that we’ve had before 2020, so very exciting about that.”
Doughan made her comments earlier this week at the meeting of the Clear Lake City Council.
