Four candidates now in GOP race for Iowa’s Fourth District congressional seat

AMES — A fourth candidate has now entered the race for the Republican nomination for Iowa’s Fourth District congressional seat which includes Winnebago, Hancock, Wright and Franklin counties in our immediate listening area.

Ryan Rhodes of Ames worked for President Trump during Trump’s first administration and served as the CEO of the conservative social medial platform Parler for the past year.

Incumbent Congressman Randy Feenstra announced earlier this year that he was running for Governor in 2026.

The other Republicans who have announced campaigns for the Fourth District seat are Siouxland Chamber of Commerce president Chris McGowan, Iowa House Majority Leader Matt Windschitl of Missouri Valley, and Humboldt area farmer Kyle Larson.

Two Democrats have announced they will be seeking the seat: Stephanie Steiner of Sutherland and Ashley WolfTornabane of Storm Lake.
