CLEAR Project coordinator resigns

CLEAR LAKE — The coordinator for the Clear Lake Enhancement and Restoration Project has resigned.
Joel Schwictenberg was hired last July to be the head of the community-led project that has been working since 1995 to improve the water quality of the lake.
The city’s director of finance and administrative services Jacob Widman recently informed the Clear Lake City Council that Schwictenberg has tendered his resignation. “He had quit his full-time job and was doing this part-time, and was going to farm part-time as well. Due to some changes with the family on the farming, he’s going to go to farming full-time. Sad to see him go, he’s done a good job for us here. Just so you guys know, we will be looking to fill that position in the upcoming months.”
The CLEAR Project Coordinator’s position is now under the direct supervision of the Clear Lake city administrator with indirect supervision of an advisory board of representatives from the cities of Clear Lake and Ventura, Cerro Gordo County, the Association for the Preservation of Clear Lake, and the Soil and Water Conservation Boards of Cerro Gordo and Hancock counties.
