Downtown assessment to be done next month in Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — The City of Clear Lake will be hosting a Downtown Assessment next month through the Iowa Downtown Resource Center.
Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Stacy Doughan says it’s a unique opportunity to receive expert guidance on how to strengthen the downtown district. “We’re excited to welcome that team, it’s a really high caliber team. They’ll be looking at things with fresh eyes, and that will help not only with planning from the city perspective, but it will help us give good feedback to our businesses that are already down there, and it will help us look at who we maybe need to attract to our downtown.”
Doughan says the community’s input with the survey will help with the assessment. “We’d love any advice or input from the community. Everything from the bricks maybe are hard to walk on to ‘I would love to see this business downtown’.”
The Downtown Resource Center Team will be in Clear Lake September 9th through the 11th.
