National Weather Service says there was a tornado near Clear Lake as part of last week’s derecho
CLEAR LAKE — The National Weather Service in Des Moines says a tornado was involved in the derecho that swept through north-central Iowa last week near Clear Lake.
The Weather Service says the tornado was on the ground between three miles south-southeast of Clear Lake to four miles southeast of Clear Lake, just east of the interchange of Interstate 35 and the Avenue of the Saints, between 12:10 and 12:14 AM on Tuesday morning July 29th.
The tornado has been classified as an EF-0 with 85 mile per hour winds, with the tornado being about 15 yards wide.
No injuries were reported with the tornado.
