Community Foundation of Hancock County Making Disaster Relief Available Soon

With recent weather events such as the derecho that struck Garner, there is a need that has developed for disaster relief. While the state has supplied disaster relief, some things may not be covered. The Community Foundation of Hancock County is stepping in to fill that void according to it’s director Ellen Tusha.
Applications will be taken by the foundation for what has been titled the Disaster Recovery Relief Fund.
The foundation is steering the funding through county non-profits and the hope is to try and aid where other relief funding could not or won’t according to Tusha.
The non-profits who intend to apply must be 501.3C’s. Tusha explained how these non-profits can apply.
The application window is open for the next two weeks.
