Flood Warnings in effect for Winnebago River in Mason City, Cedar River in Charles City

MASON CITY — There are numerous Flood Warnings in effect for our listening area after heavy rainfall overnight.
== There is a Flood Warning in effect for the Winnebago River from Beaver Creek near Fertile through Mason City to the Shell Rock River near Rockford. The river late this morning was at 9.6 feet, just below the flood stage of 10 feet. The forecast is for the river to rise above flood stage and crest at 11.9 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It then will fall below flood stage Thursday evening.
== A Flood Warning is in effect from late tonight to early Wednesday afternoon for the Cedar River at Charles City. The river was well below flood stage late this morning, but the forecast is for the river to rise above the 12 foot flood stage after midnight tonight and crest early tomorrow afternoon at 13.5 feet. The river is then forecast to fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning.
== The Flash Flood Warning for Floyd and Mitchell counties was replaced late this morning with a Flood Warning for the two counties. Between four and six inches of rain fell in that area, causing flooding in many areas of those counties as well as Allamakee, Chickasaw, Howard, and Winneshiek counties.
