Dubuque state representative enters Democratic primary race for Second District US House seat

DUBUQUE — Dubuque Democratic state representative Lindsay James announced today that she is running for the Second District seat in the United States House currently held by Republican Ashley Hinson.
James, who is an ordained Presbyterian pastor, has served in the Iowa House since 2019.
In a statement posted on social media, James says too many Iowans are facing impossible choices, choosing to save for their first home or pay for childcare; to pay for this month’s life saving medication or groceries.
James joins Kathy Dolter, a retired Army nurse and former dean of nursing at Kirkwood Community College, in the Democratic primary race. Former US Attorney Kevin Techau had announced he would be in the Democratic race as well, but cited fundraising difficulties and ended his campaign earlier this summer.
