Hinson says she’ll run for another term in Congress

CEDAR RAPIDS — North-central Iowa Republican Congresswoman Ashley Hinson held her 5th annual BBQ Bash fundraiser on Saturday in Cedar Rapids, where she indicated she will seek reelection in 2026.
Hinson was reelected to a third term in the US House last November.
Hinson represents the second congressional district, which includes Cerro Gordo, Worth, Mitchell, Floyd and Butler counties in our immediate listening area as well as the areas of Cedar Rapids, Waterloo and Dubuque.
Four Democrats say they’ll compete for their party’s nomination in the second district. They are State Representative Lindsay James of Dubuque; pastor Clint Twedt-Ball of Cedar Rapids; Kathy Dolter of Dubuque, the former dean of nursing at Kirkwood Community College; and former Pine Lake State Park manager Don Primus.
