NIACC volleyball team 4-0 after opening weekend of play, including wins over ranked teams

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS — The NIACC volleyball team is off to a 4-0 start after sweeping their matches at the OWT All-In Tournament in Rockford Illinois over the weekend.

On Friday, NIACC started their season with a three sets to one win over 25th-ranked Carl Sandburg College — 25-17, 25-16, 20-25, 25-21. The Trojans then knocked off 8th-ranked Illinois Central three sets to nothing, 29-27, 25-20, 25-19.

NIACC on Saturday won its first match over Lake Region State College three sets to two — 17-25, 25-14, 21-25, 25-21, 15-8 — and then swept North Central Michigan 25-21, 25-17, 25-23.

NIACC will open Iowa Community College Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when they travel to face Hawkeye Community College.
