Beverly Huntley, 78, formerly of Mason City

Beverly Huntley, née Bernemann, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, in Edina, Minnesota.

Born October 9, 1946 in Mason City, Iowa, Beverly was the daughter of Leo and Bernice Bernemann. She grew up in Mason City, attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary and graduated from Newman Catholic High School. She married Charles Huntley in 1967 and moved to Greeley, CO.

Returning to the Midwest, Bev and Charles moved around a bit before spending ten years in Fairmont, MN where they raised their family and Bev managed a children’s clothing store. They then moved to Sioux City, IA followed by a final move to Oakdale, MN where they have spent the last 30 years close to family. Beverly retired from the Bremer Bank Service Center in Woodbury, MN. One of the highlights she experienced was an anniversary celebration trip to Italy taken with their lifelong closest friends, Cathy and Jim Manuel from Mason City and Tom and Terrie Leake from Austin, MN.

For Beverly, family was the center of life. She shared 58 loving years with her husband, Charles, and together they raised two children: daughter Keri Myran and son Michael Huntley. She was exceptionally close to her sister, Mary Jo. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren—Zach (Kaylee) Myran, Hannah Huntley, Jacob (Tori) Myran, Leah Huntley, and Caleb Myran, and her great-grandson Asher Myran. She cherished her time with them and took immense joy in being a grandmother. Whether cheering from the sidelines, teaching them card games or driving them to swim lessons, she was always there with love and encouragement, and usually a snack. She went above and beyond the average grandma role, being active in their daily lives providing strength, encouragement and support.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Larry Bernemann; and her sister Mary Jo Bernemann.

Beyond family life, Beverly found enjoyment in a good book or a challenging crossword puzzle. There was always at least one in her purse. A lover of trivia and game shows, she never missed an episode of Jeopardy and gladly shouted the answers at the tv.

Beverly was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 with Visitation beginning at 1:00pm and a service at 2:00 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel 126 Third St NE Mason City, IA.
