A day after being cut, Clear Lake native Penning signs with Baltimore Ravens practice squad

BALTIMORE — A day after being cut by the Baltimore Ravens in the trim of their roster to the 53-man limit, Clear Lake High School alum Jared Penning has signed back on with the Ravens as part of the team’s practice squad.

NFL practice squads can have 16 players and one extra spot for an international player.

Penning signed as an undrafted free agent with Baltimore after the NFL Draft.

While at Northern Iowa, Penning appeared in most of the Panthers’ games in the final four seasons of his career, earning All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors.
