Plea change hearing set for Britt man accused of sexual abuse

BRITT — A plea change hearing has been scheduled for a Britt man accused of sexual abuse.

A criminal complaint accused 32-year-old Joshua Lampe of assaulting a woman in August of last year. The complaint states that Lampe and the victim had been at a bar together most of the night and the victim made it clear that she did not want to be romantically involved. The victim reported once they went from the bar to a friend’s house that they along with the friend she was with were all intoxicated. The victim says she later woke up to Lampe assaulting her.

Lampe has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.

Lampe had filed a written plea of not guilty back in November and he was scheduled to stand trial on the charge this month. Court records show a plea and sentencing hearing has now been scheduled for September 10th in Hancock County District Court.
