Name of Osage man involved in fatal accident on Tuesday is released

JANESVILLE — The name of an Osage man killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident in Bremer County on Tuesday has been released.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on the Avenue of the Saints at the 195 mile marker near Janesville at about 4:46 PM. The Patrol says the motorcycle, driven by 44-year-old Robert Detmering III, was traveling southbound in the inside lanes of the highway when it lost control and entered into the median. The motorcycle came to rest in the median, with debris from the motorcycle striking a vehicle in the inside lane of the northbound lanes of the highway.

Detmering was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
