Powerball jackpot climbs to estimated $1.8 billion, second largest in US history

CLIVE, Iowa — Fueled by surging ticket sales nationwide, the Powerball® jackpot has jumped to an estimated $1.8 billion annuity ($826.4 million cash option) for Saturday’s drawing.
With the increase on Friday, the jackpot is now the second-largest in U.S. history. The largest, a $2.04 billion jackpot, was won in November 2022 in California.
No ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday’s drawing, so the jackpot has continued to grow.
Saturday’s drawing will take place at 9:59 p.m. and can be streamed live on the Iowa Lottery’s website here. Here in Iowa, sales cut off at 8:59 p.m. Any ticket purchased after that will be valid for Monday’s drawing instead.
