One dead, another injured after all-terrain vehicle accident at Boone River near Goldfield

GOLDFIELD — One person is dead and another was injured after an all-terrain vehicle accident in Wright County early Saturday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says they were called shortly after 3:10 AM to the Boone River near State Highway 3 near Goldfield. Their report says a John Deere gator was traveling near the river when it misjudged how close it was to the river. The gator entered the river after a significant drop from the river bank.
Both occupants were thrown from the vehicle, trapping the passenger underneath, causing a fatal injury. 20-year-old McKenna Woodbeck of Huxley was pronounced dead as a result of the accident.
The driver of the gator, 21-year-old Levi Rasmussen of Goldfield, was taken to Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion for treatment.
