Downtown assessment starts today in Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — An assessment team from the Iowa Downtown Resource Center will be in Clear Lake for the next few days, conducting interviews, touring the community, and identifying opportunities for improving downtown Clear Lake.

Clear Lake was selected for the assessment by the Resource Center, which is a division of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce CEO Stacy Doughan says part of the process includes an open community session tonight for community members to share their input.  “We’ve invited quite a few individuals in for focus groups and we’ll be having a community input session on Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the Lakeview Room where we can get community input on how to keep our downtown vibrant and full. We’re so excited to welcome IEDA and get their input there.”

In addition, the public is encouraged to attend a downtown assessment presentation on Thursday at noon in the Lakeview Room where the assessment team will present their initial findings and share early recommendations for future improvements.
