NIACC roundup from Monday Sept. 8 — women’s golf second, men fourth at Iowa Central; men’s soccer beats Luther JV

FORT DODGE — The NIACC women’s golf team finished second at the Iowa Central Fall Kickoff at the Fort Dodge Country Club on Monday. The Trojans had a 352, 22 shots behind team champion Iowa Central. Audrey Overgaard led NIACC with an 83, which was good enough for runner-up individual medalist honors. Also for NIACC, Emma Topp shot 86, Avery Knutsen 87, and Addy Boell and Danielle Randick each had 96. 

 

== The NIACC men finished fourth in the Iowa Central Fall Kickoff with a team score of 304. Southeast Community College of Nebraska and Iowa Central tied for first with rounds of 297, while Northeast Community College of Nebraska was one shot back. Freshman Heath Voigt led NIACC with a 72, which was tied for second in the medalist competition. Also for NIACC, Garrett Ham shot a 75, Hudson Kroymann a 76, Austin Stene an 81 and Kyler Glenn an 85. 

 

Both NIACC teams host the NIACC Fall Invitational today at Highland Park in Mason City. 

 

MASON CITY — The NIACC men’s soccer team stopped the Luther College JV on Monday at home 2-0. Max Polson scored in the first half for NIACC while Rafael Gutierrez Martin scored in the second half. NIACC is now 4-1-1 overall and will return to action on September 17th at Iowa Central.
