Water mains to be flushed starting today in northeastern quadrant of Mason City

MASON CITY — The City of Mason City’s Water Supply Division will be flushing water mains in the northeastern quadrant of town starting today and continuing through Friday, September 26th. That will include all areas east of Federal Avenue and north of State Highway 122.

Water customers may notice some discoloration of the water after the mains have been flushed, however the water is safe to drink. Caution should be used when washing clothing because discolored water may cause staining. The public is being asked not to park near or across from fire hydrants during this time.
