NIACC Roundup from Wednesday — Volleyball picks up first conference win, men’s soccer shuts out Iowa Central

MASON CITY — The NIACC volleyball team picked up a three set win over Southwestern in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference action last night at the NIACC gym. NIACC won 25-10, 25-16, 25-16. Sophomore Hannah Brinkman and freshman Jocelynn Coleman led the Trojans with 11 kills apiece. Coleman also had two digs and one block. NIACC improves to 9-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference. They’ll return to action on Saturday at home in their Border Bash, facing Rochester Technical and Community College at 1 o’clock, and Minnesota West Community & Technical College at 3 o’clock.
FORT DODGE — The NIACC men’s soccer team used three second-half goals to win at Iowa Central on Wednesday, 3-0. Scoring for the Trojans were Charlie Ronald in the 60th minute, Maximilian Torres in the 72nd minute, and Max Polson in the 82nd minute. NIACC improves to 5-1-1 overall and will open the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference portion of their schedule on Saturday facing Iowa Lakes in Spencer.
