The Sheriff’s Office says at around 3:00 AM on Saturday, deputies along with the assistance of the Iowa State Patrol Tactical Team executed a search warrant at a rural McCallsburg residence in Hardin County on County Road S-27. Investigators allegedly recovered about three-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine along with firearms.

50-year-old Virgil Kreins of McCallsburg was arrested and charged with: possession of meth with the intent to deliver, a Class B felony; as well as two counts of possession of firearms as a felon, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, all Class D felonies.

Cerro Gordo County officials says additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
