Mason City High girls, Lake Mills boys win team titles at Riverhawk Invitational cross country meet

MASON CITY — The Mason City High girls and the Lake Mills boys won the team titles at the Mason City Riverhawk Invitational cross country meet on Tuesday.

The Mason City girls placed all five of their runners in the top ten to finish with 32 points, edging Gilbert, who had 33 points. Ames was third with 119 points, Newman was fourth with 132, followed by Lake Mills in fifth with 149. Keira Andersen of Gilbert won the girls race in a time of 19:05. Mason City senior Brogan Evans finished second in a time of 19:30.

On the boys side, Lake Mills won with 45 points, Ames was second with 61, and Mason City was third with 103. Henry Hansen of Mason City won the boys race in a time of 16:03. Lake Mills seniors Hayden Thompson and Knute Rogne finished second and third in times of 16:16 and 16:25.
