It’s National Farm Safety and Health Week

The agricultural sector is still the most dangerous in America according to the latest data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, and fall harvest time can be one of the busiest and most dangerous seasons of the year for the agriculture industry. The third week of September is always recognized as “National Farm Safety and Health Week”.

During his conference call with ag reporters this week, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley offered a message about farmer safety.  “I want to remind all farmers to stay safe during this harvest season, and for non-farmers that are using the highways, when there is farm machinery on the highways to be very cautious and protective of the farmer as well as their own well being.”
