High school recap from Thursday September 25 — volleyball, cross country results

STORY CITY — The Clear Lake boys finished fourth and the girls finished seventh at the Roland-Story cross country invitational last night. On the boys side, Clear Lake had 130 points. Bondurant-Farrar won with 41. John Amos had Clear Lake’s best finish, placing fifth in a time of 16:58. The Lions girls finished with 160 points, with Ballard winning the team crown with 52 points. MANLY — Forest City took home both the boys and girls team titles at the Central Springs Panther Invitational cross country meet at the Pioneer Town & Country Club in Manly. Forest City edged South Winneshiek for the girls team title, 52 to 56 points. Newman was third with 121. Ivy Urbatsch of Northwood-Kensett won the girls race in 19:40. On the boys side, Forest City won the team title with 46 points, Lake Mills was second with 56, West Hancock was third with 106. Knute Rogne and Hayden Thompson of Lake Mills were the top two in the boys race, finishing in times of 16:19 and 16:20. Click here for full results
