Nobody injured in Clear Lake house fire

CLEAR LAKE — Nobody was injured after a house fire in Clear Lake Tuesday morning.
The Clear Lake Fire Department says they were dispatched to a single-family residence in the 2000 block of Main Avenue at about 8:15 AM after a report of a fire in the laundry area. Firefighters on arrival found that the homeowners had evacuated safely with their pet dog.
The Fire Department says the fire was contained to the basement and caused an estimated $7500 in damage.
The fire was attributed to lint buildup igniting in the clothes dryer vent.
