Absentee ballots available for general election on October 15th

MASON CITY — Absentee ballots will be available starting Wednesday October 15th for the 2025 city and school elections.

An eligible voter may vote an absentee ballot at the county auditor’s office or submit a written request for a ballot to be mailed to the voter.

Voters will be required to show one of the following identification before they vote: an Iowa driver’s license; an Iowa non-operator’s identification; an Iowa voter identification card; a US military or veteran’s ID; a US passport; or a Tribal ID card or document.

Requests for absentee ballots should be addressed to the county auditor in your county. In Cerro Gordo County, the address is 220 North Washington Avenue, Mason City, Iowa, 50401, and it must include: the voter’s name, date of birth, driver’s license number, non-operator ID or voter ID PIN number, current address, signature, and the name or date of the election.
