Mason City woman accused of stealing money from dependent adult pleads not guilty

MASON CITY — A Mason City woman charged with stealing money from a dependent adult has pleaded not guilty.
A criminal complaint filed in Cerro Gordo County District Court accuses 26-year-old Angel Mannetter of stealing about $2250 from the victim between June of last year and January of this year. Mannetter is the victim’s payee, and Mannetter is accused of taking money to use for personal needs.
Mannetter is accused of ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B felony, as well as second-degree theft, a Class D felony.
Mannetter filed a written plea of not guilty on Friday in Cerro Gordo County District Court. Her trial is scheduled to start on December 2nd.
If convicted of both charges, Mannetter would face up to 30 years in prison.
