Cross Country — Forest City Invitational results, North Central Conference meet later today

FOREST CITY — Lake Mills won the boys title while Forest City won the girls title at the Forest City Invitational cross country meet at Bear Creek Golf Course on Monday. Lake Mills had the top three runners in the boys race with Hayden Thompson and Knute Rogne crossing the line together at 16:28 with Stephen Brandenburg finishing third in 17:18. The Bulldogs had 30 points, Forest City was second with 44, followed by West Hancock with 98. Newman finished fifth with 127.

Forest City had three finish in the top six to win the girls title with 37 points. Osage was second with 74, while Newman was third with 94. Scarlett Byrnes of Osage won the girls race in a time of 19:36.

ALGONA — Algona hosts the North Central Conference cross country meet later today at the River Road Golf Club. There are two ranked teams competing in the meet with the Clear Lake boys #20 in Class 3A and St. Edmond #19 in Class 1A. There are three ranked individuals in the competition with Gavin Weber of Algona being ranked 5th in Boys Class 3A; and Humboldt teammates Avery Fisher and Brynn Malo being ranked 19th and 25th in Girls Class 3A.
