No injuries after Mason City apartment fire

MASON CITY — No injuries were reported after an apartment fire in southeastern Mason City on Wednesday.

The Mason City Fire Department says shortly before 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, they responded to a structure fire at 1601 6th Place Southeast. On arrival, units found smoke showing from the roof. Crews entered an apartment and found fire in the attic area of the building. The fire was extinguished quickly from the second floor bathroom after the ceiling was pulled.

All occupants evacuated on their own from the building. The fire is still under investigation.
