Mason City teen pleads not guilty to East Park shooting

MASON CITY — A Mason City man accused of shooting another teen in East Park earlier this year has pleaded not guilty.

18-year-old Ladainian Pannhoff is accused of stealing a handgun from a family member and meeting several other people on April 24th for a fight in East Park. A criminal complaint states numerous people were hurt during the incident, with Pannhoff firing a gun and hitting 18-year-old Ean Arp, who was treated and released from MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. The complaint says Pannhoff was identified as the shooter through video surveillance, witnesses, and other evidence.

Pannhoff was scheduled to have an arraignment hearing on Tuesday in Cerro Gordo County District Court, but court records show he filed a written plea of not guilty to charges of trafficking in stolen weapons used in a crime, participating in a riot, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

His trial is scheduled to start on January 13th.
