High school cross country qualifying meets — Class 3A, 4A results from Wednesday — 2A, 1A sites for today

MARSHALLTOWN — The Mason City High girls finished fourth while the boys finished seventh at the Class 4A state qualifying meet held in Marshalltown on Wednesday. The Riverhawk girls had 115 team points, with Waukee Northwest winning the team title with 24 points. Cedar Falls was second with 57 and Waukee third with 72. Brogan Evans had Mason City’s best finish placing ninth in 19:02 and qualified for the state meet next week. On the boys side, Cedar Falls won the team title with 39 points, Dubuque Hempstead was second with 69, Waukee Northwest was third with 82. Mason City finished seventh with 202. Henry Hansen qualified for the state meet, placing seventh in a time of 16:08.

 

SPENCER — The Clear Lake boys finished fifth while the girls placed seventh at the Class 3A state qualifying meet held in Spencer. Sioux Center won the boys title with 33 points, while Clear Lake finished with 157. John Amos had Clear Lake’s best finish, placing 17th in a time of 17:26. On the girls side, Saylor Schmitt placed 10th to qualify for the state meet, finishing in 19:30. Sioux Center won the girls team title with 51 points, with the Lions finishing with 205 points.

== Class 2A at Eagle Gove — Garner-Hayfield-Ventura

== Class 2A at Oelwein — Central Springs, Osage

== Class 2A at Orange City — Forest City
