CHARLES CITY — A Charles City man has pleaded not guilty to a sexual abuse charge.
39-year-old Garrett Boleman is accused of committing sexual abuse during the night of August 25th of this year into the morning of August 26th at his home. A criminal complaint says the victim was 14 or 15 years old and the alleged act was done by force or against the victim’s will.
Boleman was arrested on September 5th and charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.
Boleman filed a written plea of not guilty in Floyd County District Court on Monday and demanded a speedy trial. His trial is set to start on December 9th.
